  1. Okay, I am a proud woman right now! I have no training in cars, electronics, etc and I have been searching all day for a different method as this one of turning the ignition on and using having a key in the drivers door did nothing, I tried something new, something I never found on the internet and it WORKED like a charm! Here it is:

Open the trunk with the key 'A', leave the key in and the trunk open.

Lock drivers door from the outside with key 'B'
Push unlock button on key 'B'.
That's it! Now key 'B' is programmed.

Do the same exact thing with the other key.

SO EASY!! I really hope this helps someone else in the near future!

  2. I'm a little confused. Are the VW keys "smart"? Do they have chips and a battery inside them? What is a Transponder key?

  3. The smart key is the remote that does not have a metal key with it, it is just a remote you stick in a slot and that is how you start the car. A transponder key is an actual metal key with a "chip" inside that is a security feature.
